I used to think Salads were boring, until I realized with a little bit of effort, a salad can be an exciting way to get all my daily nutrients through fruits and vegetables!
It’s always important to get fresh fruits and vegetables, as the value of the nutrients diminishes overtime. Eating vegetables grown from one’s own environment will contain the most nutrition. After all, the true goal of cooking is to provide higher nutritional value to our bodies.
Strawberries are rich with antioxidants and Vitamin C, which reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. One cup is all you need for your entire daily intake.
During Summer times I want to have a light meal so I have the energy to go explore the outdoors. This salad is easy on the stomach and has a satisfying, flavorful taste. It is perfect for the summer! Serving Size: 1
- 5 ounces of baby spinach
- 2 cups cooked turkey breast
- 2 cups sliced strawberries
- 1 small sweet yellow pepper
- 4 sliced green onions
Ingredients for Dressing
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons water
- 4 teaspoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon dried minced onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
How To Prepare
- Place 5 ingredients in a large bowl
- Place dressing ingredients in a jar and shake well
- Drizzle the dressing over the salad, and toss it
- Serve and enjoy!
