What Is CBD Isolate

The term “CBD Powder” and “CBD Isolate” can be misleading. When you google CBD Powder, phrases like “CBD Isolate 99% Pure CBD Powder”, “Active CBD oil 99% CBD Isolate Hemp Powder” and “99.6%+ Pure CBD Isolate Powder” appear. Individuals not familiar with the hemp and CBD industry are left wondering, what does this all mean?

The term “CBD Isolate” refers to a pure, crystallized form of CBD. CBD is extracted from the hemp plant as an oil. The oil that is extracted from the plant contains CBD and other cannabinoids like THC. In order to remove the possibly harmful cannabinoids, the oil is refined a few times and turned into CBD Isolate. CBD Isolate is the purest form of CBD (this is why you see 99% pure).

Your Body Can’t Utilize CBD Isolate Powder

CBD is great, it has a wealth of health benefits! However, CBD Isolate is useless as it cannot be digested and utilized in your body. If you ingest CBD Isolate you will not receive any benefit, it must first be nano-emulsified.

In the nano-emulsion process, the CBD molecules are broken down into small droplets (see graphic below on the far right for reference). In addition, during the process, CBD Isolate is mixed with an all-natural penetration enhancer. This increases the absorption rate by coating the CBD molecules, allowing them to move quicker and more effectively in your body. This process turns CBD Isolate into water-soluble CBD, and allows it to be digested and utilized (1).

Not All Water-Soluble CBD Products Are Created Equal

Most companies on the market, especially those that market their products as a “CBD drink mix” or a “CBD tea” sell CBD that has gone through a liposomal-emulsion (see graphic above in the middle for reference). A liposomal-emulsion does not break down the CBD Isolate as well as a nano-emulsion. Furthermore, the body does not get to receive the full benefits!

Looking at a companies site is a great way to tell what type of process they use to manufacture their CBD. If you do not see the words “nanotechnology” or “nano”, their products are most likely made from a liposomal-emulsion.

Due to the high cost of manufacturing, Priscotty Pure is one of the few companies on the market that uses a true nano-emulsion process to manufacture it’s CBD! When you try it you can feel the difference!

I’m looking for a powder I can add to my bath with episom salts. Can you help figure out which one is correct for this usage?
